These are some of my pictures of my works done for anatomical drawing course,
For homework we had to do 25 hands, 15 legs, 10 knees, 10 elbows, my own skull in two views and my own skeleton in two views. Here are some of then. Also I put some of my works done during he course. The one with the drinking was the most fun to do, tho it was about 10min per pose so it had to be done quite quickly. That’s the one I like the most. The one with the red eyes, my teacher told me that we don’t need to draw communists
, I tried to explain it is a terminator but she insisted that it is a communist, well you decide…

Artisan crafts, traditional art, photography and maybe something more
These are 5 of the paintings made for 1st year in painting course.
“Crow house” this one was an assignment to go to a shop and buy something for 15 EEK. I bought this little birdhouse – some kind of a decoration. Then we had to paint it some kind of a environment of our own choosing. At first I painted it on a tree – boring I know. Then I had no idea how to make it better, but then I got this idea crows, lots and lots of crows The second one was an assignment to paint a photograph of choice, we had to use an overhead projector to project the image on the canvas. Then we circled the different tone areas and started painting over. This was a practice of one type of photo realism.
The third one is was an assignment to take a painting o someone and repaint it in our own way. I chose the painting of Peter Paul Rubens: “Saturn devouring his son”. My idea was – Saturn goes vegan and I wanted to over dramatize the painting thus the running paint.
The fourth one was a practice of female nude painting and the fourth one was the practice of male nude painting. All tough it was a short course 1,5h once a week I quite liked it.
During he Serial art course we had to makes some kinda of a serial art.
Because serial art can be in any form, we had pretty much any way of making it. I had many ideas before this one, but they . . . sucked
. The idea was to cut out little rabbits from paper and photograph them in the places important to me. The title of this serial art is “Jälgedes jälgides”, meaning In the footsteps observing. This title means basically that some of the photos are in my observation point of view and others are photographs of my activity at the time. The rabbit is a symbol of me – my shadow. I’ve put most of them up, and some exhibition photos as well.
I have been wearing this belt buckle for over a half a year now and I still like it.
This idea came to me during the start of my studies in blacksmithing, I am a sucker for viking symbolism and patterns. So I decided I want to make a belt buckle as traditionally as possible – Easier said than done. The material I used was some scrap parts found lying around the smithy. At first I forged it to the right shape and then chiseled the pattern on the buckle. That was the easy part, since I decided not to weld I had to solder the parts together. But eventually we managed to solder it all together with brass. Some say it is quite heavy, but I’m kinda used to it now
. Oh and little about the pattern – it is called vegvisir and it is a viking compass. Thou it is a compass, it wasn’t used as one, instead it was a lucky charm. The sailing vikings used it as a lucky charm that helps them find the way back home. Hopefully I’m not wrong about this one
, so correct me if I am.
Here is something completely different, a skull
. This one was done for a form study class. At first we had to make an anatomically correct skull. For reference we had two skulls – one had no jaw on left side and the other had about two teeth
. We had to use clay and get all the proportions correct, we could not resist to have some fun while we made the skulls, it was a long lesson. Here are some of the funny ones, made by me, Tarvo and Siim:

The first one is the one I did, a psychedelic skull. I just started making snakes and mushrooms, plus some other weird stuff. Then I just attached them where ever possible. The second one is made by Tarvo, a miiking skull. It all started from single beard, growing into two beards and for some reason Tarvo thought that he needed Mickey’s ears too. The third one is made by Siim, an emo skull. Nothing much to say here except no one understands this skull
.
Also I made a new hero, so to speak, a good base for a movie/comic/cartoon
– Snake Rider. As seen on the picture. He is a starfish shaped creature that rides a snake, he also has a nemesis – “The Nemesis”. “The Nemesis” is also seen on the picture, it’s the big lipped, three legged vile creature. The Nemesis is always chasing Snake Rider trying to suck his snake with his epic suck powers
. I have a theme song also, but I don’t know how to write music
, but its a catchy one. Ok enaough abot the snake rider and back to the skull.
When we finished the skulls and there were almost anatomically correct, we had to think of a way to modify the skull. How to do it was completely our choice. I had an idea, since I like sugar skulls, I wanted to make a sugar skull, but with Estonian symbols. So was the Kama Skull born (kama – traditional Estonian food). The eyes are cornflowers (Estonian national flowers), the mustache is rye, on the sides there are barn swallows(Estonian national birds) and all over the skull there are
different national patterns. It is cast gypsum, modified with hand rotary tool and painted with acrylic colors. It is quite a bit larger than human skull and it is pretty heavy. Right now he is overlooking my workbench, watching my every move
Here is my first jewelery work, done in school for introduction to jewelery class. Our assignment was to make a box out of silver or copper. I chose to use silver. The idea was to make an oil lamp resembling a candle, but to make it less complicated and more minimalistic I chose the cube shape.
Also I had some thing with water drops and running wax at the time, so I decided to make running wax drop imitations, I love running candle wax. The box itself is 3,5cm cube and it is hallow inside, for the lamp oil. To prevent the box to get too hot, I chose to make the cover hallow inside. The tube where the wick comes out, is soldered on the bottom plate of the cover. In the center of the top cover plate there is a hole just a little bit larger that the tube coming out. This is supposed to make a cooling zone in the cover, in theory, but I have no way of knowing if it has any real effect
.
All in all it isn’t getting too hot and the cover looks good, so if it doesn’t have any effect it still looks nice. The box and the cover is oxidized silver with matte finish. The “wax” drop is also oxidized silver, but it is polished. So here is my first jewelery item – a working oil lamp made from silver.
For my first blog entry I chose my first Specialty project done for my school (Estonian Art University).
The key word of the project was “Icon”. After a lot of thinking and rethinking I chose to make an apple shaped box, with some kind of a mechanism inside the box. The main idea was that outside it is minimalistic and well brushed up , while on the inside it is a complicated machine – An icon of today’s technology.
It is done from 4mm steel sheet, cut into equal pieces, hammered with ball-pin hammer while hot. Then I welded it all together to make
a box and also forged a nob so that the box would resemble an apple. Inside I made a mechanism that just turns four or so cogwheels around and makes a lot of noise. There is a micro motor inside powered by a 9v battery to turn the wheels and power the 3 LED-s for illumination of the bottom. The bottom is made from 1cm thick plexiglas, for the curious people wondering what makes the noise, so they can look inside the box
.
All in all it turned out quite well and everybody liked it, including me.
